چکیده
Tantalum, niobium, and their oxides are important precursor materials, essential for high-temperature alloys electronic devices. The primary hydrometallurgical extraction technique to extract tantalum niobium from minerals involves hydrofluoric acid (HF) digestion of the concentrates, followed by solvent as an oxide separation purification step. Solvent extraction, on other hand, releases organic solvents which lost irreversibly via natural evaporation during process. This research demonstrates a novel chemical process refining columbite tantalite concentrates (29% Ta2O5 16% Nb2O5). In this process, reduced using carbon alkali in temperature range 800–950 °C, helps reducing magnetically separating iron present metallic iron. remaining residue is rich complex (e.g., sodium tantalates niobates) formed roasting was reclaimed purified mixture Nb2O5 Ta2O5, oxalic leaching, bisulphate roasting.

Fabrication and Characterization of Nanoporous Niobia, and Nanotubular Tantala, Titania and Zirconia via Anodization
Valve metals such as titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), niobium (Nb) and tantalum (Ta) that confer a stable oxide layer on their surfaces are commonly used as implant materials or alloying elements for titanium-based implants, due to their exceptional high corrosion resistance and excellent biocompatibility. The aim of this study was to investigate the bioactivity of the nanostructures of tantala (...
متن کاملA Highly Sensitive Enzyme-Amplified Immunosensor Based on a Nanoporous Niobium Oxide (Nb2O5) Electrode
We report on the development of an enzyme-amplified sandwich-type immunosensor based on a thin gold film sputtered on an anodic nanoporous niobium oxide (Au@Nb(2)O(5)) electrode. The electrocatalytic activity of enzymatically amplified electroactive species and a stable electrode consisting of Au@Nb(2)O(5) were used to obtain a powerful signal amplification of the electrochemical immunobiosenso...
متن کاملGreen extraction of Niobium and Tantalum from Kenticha Tantalite ore using 1-Ethyl-3-Methyl Imidazolium Chloride ionic liquid
The decomposition of the Ethiopian Kenticha tantalite ore was studied using the KOH fusion and H2O leaching system at 400 0C for a 1 h reaction time. The experimental results obtained showed that 27 wt% of Ta2O5 was mainly transformed into insoluble KTaO3, not to be KNbO3, and as well, into the dissolved liquor containing 94.73 vol% of Nb2O5 and 75.80 vol% of Ta2O5. The observations, supported ...
متن کاملPorous tantalum and tantalum oxide nanoparticles for regenerative medicine.
For centuries, inflammatory/foreign body reactions have plagued the attempts of clinicians to use metals for tissue and bone reconstructions. Since corrosion contributes to the rejection of metal by the body, an extremely bioinert metal - tantalum - has been successfully used in medicine. The outstanding biocompatibility and flexibility of tantalum established the basis for a growing cadre of c...
متن کاملSalting Out Effect of Electrolyte Solutions in The Extraction of Tantalum and Niobium Using Aqueous Biphase System
The salting-out effect of various solutions of electrolyte in the extraction of tantalum and niobium using aqueous biphasic system (ABS) was investigated. This was achieved by leaching ball-milled Tantalite ore with mineral acids (H2SO4 and HF) in the ratio of 3:1. The leached liquor was then divided into five parts and each part mixed with ABS formed (e.g. PEG-3350/20wt/wt Na2CO3) for the extr...
